Join us for the Curzon’s very own short film festival returning once again for 2023. Each year we feature a selection of the finest shorts from the South West’s locally grown filmmaking talent all for just £5 a ticket! Featuring films shot in, inspired by, or made by filmmakers from the South West, Homegrown Shorts is an opportunity for aspiring filmmakers to reach an audience, and for our community to support the next generation of cinematic voices. The evening is a wonderful chance to see what’s on offer as well as for local filmmakers to meet and mingle with their peers.
We are excited to announce that we will be joined by Carolina Petro and Gabriela Stanizewska, winner and honourable mention respectively of the Jury Prize at Encounters Festival’s South West Showcase 2022, for their films Sweet Little Despair and Yummy Mummy. As well as screening their films they will be joining us for a Q&A after the showcase to chat about their journeys as filmmakers so far.
