Arrive as doors open for a South African inspired fusion DJ set, stay for the Q&A (including an original recruit) and drinks and chats in the bar afterwards.
At the height of apartheid an international group of young people – students and workers – answered Oliver Tambo’s call for undercover agents. Not all of them made it home. This award winning film reveals the story for the first time: the recruits, those who inspired them and the people who made their missions possible.
Gordon Main’s thriller recounts the real-life ‘secret war against apartheid’ by ordinary men and women in the 60s and 70s, recruited by ANC leaders in exile, Oliver Tambo and Ronnie Kasrils. The film was awarded Joburg Film Festival 2024 Best Doc and Best Pan African Film – Simon Mabhunu Sabela Awards 2024.
