Katie Cross, who founded Pledgeball, a Bristol-based charity that rallies football fans to tackle climate change. Working with stakeholders across the football community, from clubs to fan groups, from county FAs to leagues.
Zoe Gibbons, founding member of Bristol Women’s Football Casual League and player for Easton Cowgirls, Zoe was one of the Cowgirls who visited Palestine to play the women’s team in the West Bank, and has recently created artwork to commemorate the historic Dick Kerr Ladies team, 100 years after the FA banned women’s football in 1921.
Our panel host is Dr Oscar Berglund, coach of Swiss Valley Girls FC U10s and Lecturer in International Social and Public Policy at the University of Bristol.
The Oak Room Bar will be open before the film from 7pm – 8pm, hosting an exhibition of Dave Harry’s sweeping photographic works ‘Football Landscapes of Europe‘, soon to be published as a book; we are grateful to Clevedon Town FC for helping organise the exhibition. There will also be an award-winning short film before the main screening, celebrating the life of Lizzie Ashcroft who played for Dick Kerr Ladies during WW1. A fitting celebration to mark International Women’s Day 2023.
