This season of Classic & Cuppa has been curated by Curzon Cinema And Arts’ Chair of Trustees, David Sheridan: “These are the movies that made a real impression when I first saw them and have stayed with me over time. They are not often seen on the big screen where they belong, so these will be rare showings. They are very varied but all classics.”
On Jean de Florette (1986), David says:
“Set in the hills of Provence, this French classic brought its two stars Daniel Auteuil and Gerard Depardieu to international audiences. Winning many awards (including a BAFTA for Best Film), the film is best paired with its sequel Manon des Sources (screening Tue 18 Jun) which is also excellent – they were filmed together back-to-back.”
