Online booking fee
There is a non-refundable booking fee of £1 per online transaction.
We charge a booking fee because to provide advance booking facilities via our website, we have to use other intermediate companies to provide these services. The booking fees are set to at least offset some of the additional costs incurred by us. This is not a “Credit Card Processing Fee” – credit and debit card transactions carried out in person at the cinema (including those transactions where a booking is made for another day) do not incur any additional charges. All of our credit and debit card processing costs are incorporated within our ticket prices, with no additional fees on any transaction.
FOOD AND DRINK
Oak Room Lounge Bar
Our fully-licensed bar opens an hour before the advertised film programme start time and sells a range of drinks and snacks. Guests are welcome to take their drinks into the auditorium.
Foyer and Kiosk
We sell a variety of popcorn, sweets, drinks, ice-creams and more from our foyer and our kiosk with vegan options and choices for those with allergies. If you are unsure about a product please ask a member of staff.
Bringing in your own snacks
As the majority percentage of ticket sales goes to the film distributors, we rely on profits from our refreshment sales for the upkeep of the cinema. So we’re asking you to support the Curzon by buying from us and request that you leave any ‘home’ bought refreshments with the Duty Manager for the duration of the film.
OUR SCREENINGS
MAIN FILM PROGRAMME
The latest releases from award winning dramas to spectacular blockbusters.
CURZON SPECIALS
Curzon Specials provide an alternative to our weekly screenings and is a commitment to showing the best in Hollywood, art house, foreign language and documentary film making as well as classic film favourites.
BRING YOUR BABY
Bring Your Baby is a weekly new release screening from our main programme and is dedicated to parents with babies. Auditorium lighting is slightly higher than normal and kept on during the film and volume levels are lower. We provide changing mats and a bottle warmer in the auditorium. Customers without a baby are also welcome.
SATELLITE SCREENINGS
Our satellite screenings include theatre, concerts and Q&As and are screened both live and as recorded “encore” screenings. Our broadcasts include live and recorded concerts from a wide range of genres, from Rock and Pop to the Royal Shakespeare Company, the English National Opera and the Royal Opera House.
CURZON KIDS
Once a month Curzon Kids puts the cinema fun back into Saturday mornings. If your kids like to make and create, come along to Curzon kids, watch the film and create works of art inspired by the screening. Children must be accompanied by an adult for all Curzon Kids workshops.
CURZON EVENTS AND LIVE SHOWS
Including live comedy, theatre, music and Q&As and our annual heritage day in September as part of the Heritage Open Days nationwide festival.
SUBTITLED SCREENINGS
On Wednesday afternoons, we offer subtitled screenings of the latest releases (where available) for people with impaired hearing.
RELAXED SCREENINGS
One Saturday a month, our relaxed screenings create a sensory friendly and inclusive environment for those on the autism spectrum, people living with dementia and anyone who would benefit from a relaxed cinema experience. The lights will be left on on low throughout the screening, the sound will be at a lower volume, there will be no adverts/trailers or entry music prior to the film. Customers will have freedom to move around the auditorium if necessary and there will be a quiet area for people to relax in our Oak Room. We will also be providing extra signage in the cinema to make the building easier to navigate.
We hope through these relaxed screenings to make the cinema going experience accessible for as many people as possible.
EXHIBITIONS
Throughout the year several art exhibitions take place in the Oak Room Bar including photography, painting and printing.
