Carrying on from the Swimming Under The Sky screenings to kick off our new strand of Outdoor + Adventure films with an exploration into ice-swimming, big wave surfing and overcoming fear to support mental health.
We encourage you to meet at Clevedon Marine Lake for a 6pm swim before heading to the Curzon for 7pm where you can grab a jazzed-up coffee to warm the cockles before the screening!
When champion Portuguese big wave surfer Joana Andrade has to conquer her fear of drowning, she finds herself locked in combat with long-buried demons from her past under a frozen Finnish lake.
BIG vs SMALL stretches from raging monster waves of the Atlantic coast to the dark stillness of a far-north, frozen Finnish lake. It charts a unique bond and friendship between two women as they face the demons of the past. It’s about trust, it’s about letting go, and it’s about what happens when two elite female champions share their extraordinary talent with each other.
Because the battle isn’t just on the wave.
The film will be followed by a Q&A with cold-water swimming coaches Sarah Fyson + Vix Ellis, hosted by coach Rowan Clarke, and you can carry on the conversation in the bar afterwards.
