As you will be aware, we have been fighting off the damaging effect of rain water coming in through our roof, in its increasing state of disrepair. The building is now being disastrously affected and we are at a tipping point. We are appealing to the local community and businesses to help us raise £100,000 by the end of the year, towards the £500,000+ costs of completely restoring the roof. Many people in the community have shown us wonderful support and £26,500 has been raised to date but there is still a long way to go before reaching the target.
Luckily for us the Curzon’s charm reaches far and wide and this month we have been able to share some very exciting news with you.
Someone very special is helping us to #savethecurzon. A true Curzon Special will be shown before every film screening, featuring a one-off collaboration between ourselves and Aardman Animations. Make sure you’re settled in your seat before the film to watch Gromit and hear his plea to save our spectacular cinema.
With massive thanks to Nick Park, David Sproxton, Peter Lord and everyone at Aardman Animations for all the support and making this collaboration possible.
Thanks also to Howard Coggins from Living Spit, Niall Johnson, Ken Wheeler and Gavin Digby – cracking job lads!
You can get a sneak preview of the animation here,
Please share the film far and wide to help raise awareness and donate today at www.curzon.org.uk/fundraising
