Alternative Artisans at the Curzon



Alternative Artisans, a collective of artists from North Somerset, will be exhibiting at the Curzon from Friday 28 April – Sunday 7 May 2017.

Among the quality hand-crafted artworks and craft pieces for sale will be prints and original paintings and sketches, ceramics, jewellery and accessories, and textiles.

10% of sale proceeds will be donated to the Curzon's charity.

Artists


Margaret Raven

Margaret is a ceramicist based in North Somerset. She enjoys making hand built and thrown pieces for use or display. Her current work uses slate and found objects.


Greg Hunt

Greg studied at the Bristol School of Art. He paints and draws on a wide range of subjects, mainly from photographs.


Gail Clarke

Having begun studying art at 40yrs old, Gail had the good luck to find a marvellous tutor who inspired her to go to Art College in Hertfordshire. She paints mostly in acrylics and more recently has been exploring digital art. Gail aims to create art that is positive, happy and affordable.


Carol Newton (Clevedon Handbag Company)

Carol incorporates her love of pattern, colour and texture – be it in fabric, knitting or crochet – into every piece she makes. She concentrates on hand-crafted bags for all occasions and in all sizes, from phone cases to shopping bags.


Penny Holmes

Penny designs unique handmade pieces of jewellery using birth, healing and semi-precious stones. She also sells Italian accessories, bags, linen, cashmere pieces and scarves which compliment the colours and designs of her bespoke jewellery.


Charlotte Burroughs (The Textile Treasury)

The Textile Treasury was born out of Charlotte's love of colour and passion for beautiful fabrics and textiles. Her stock is carefully sourced from fair-trade and ethical merchandisers, craftsman and artisans.


Chris Robinson

Having trained at Goldsmiths, University of London, Chris feeds her creativity by making jewellery and silversmithing, working with silver, acrylics, pastels and other mediums. She loves to combine materials, looking closely at nature and the world around her for inspiration.
