Patton + intro from Tony Griggs & John Taylor
This epic biopic of controversial World War II hero General George S. Patton won 7 Oscars on it’s release in 1970, including Best Picture and Best Actor for the venerable George C. Scott who famously refused the award in protest of the academy. This sprawling character study covers Patton’s wartime activities and accomplishments, beginning with his entry into the North African campaign and ending with his removal from command after his outspoken criticism of US post-war military strategy.
We are joined by Tony Griggs and John Taylor who worked as lighting stand ins for George C. Scott and Karl Malden on the world famous picture. They will be sharing some stories from their time on the production as well as some personal photographs taken on set before the film.
