Curzon and Sunset Cinema Present… Fisherman’s Friends & live music from the Barnacle Buoys

Back again on Salthouse Fields after a brilliantly successful 2018 the Curzon and Sunset Cinema bring you the hugely popular true story of Fisherman’s Friends as well as live music from the Barnacle Buoys before the film, all to help us raise money for our very leaky roof

A fast-living, cynical London music executive (Danny Mays) heads to a remote Cornish village on a stag weekend where he’s pranked by his boss (Noel Clarke) into trying to sign a group of shanty singing fishermen (led by James Purefoy). He becomes the ultimate ‘fish out of water’ as he struggles to gain the respect or enthusiasm of the unlikely boy band and their families (including Tuppence Middleton) who value friendship and community over fame and fortune. As he’s drawn deeper into the traditional way of life he’s forced to re-evaluate his own integrity and ultimately question what success really means.

Barnacle Buoys is a group of a cappella sea shanty singers based in North Somerset. “We exist to enjoy our craft, entertain our audiences and raise money for our chosen charities. Our principle charities have been the Childrens Hospice South West and the RNLI but we are proud to be associated with the fabulous Curzon and in particular the current roof appeal. We perform at a wide variety of venues ranging from small community projects to the largest of festivals in the region, flying the flag for Clevedon and North Somerset.” – Barnacle Buoys

This is an outdoor event so please check the weather forecast beforehand and dress appropriately. If it rains the show will go on. Only in the case of extreme weather, such as dangerously high winds will the screening be cancelled.
