(UK/Aus 2009) Dir: Jane Campion, 119 mins
Ben Whishaw, Abbie Cornish, Kerry Fox
London, 1818; a secret love affair
begins between 23-year-old poet John Keats and Fanny Brawne, an
outspoken student of fashion.
At first, he sees her as a stylish minx, while she
is unimpressed by literature in general. But when Keats's younger
brother falls ill they are drawn together. Keats, touched by Fanny's
efforts to help care for his brother, agrees to teach her poetry.

By the time Fanny's alarmed mother and Keats's best friend Charles Armitage
Brown realise their attachment, the relationship has gained an unstoppable
momentum. |
