Spy comedy. When the spy agency Control is attacked by the crime syndicate KAOS and its agents' identities compromised, the Chief has to promote his ever-eager analyst Maxwell Smart (Carell), who has always dreamt of working in the field.

Partnered with the lovely-but-lethal Agent 99 (Hathaway), armed only with a few gadgets and his enthusiasm, Smart must thwart the plans of KAOS head Siegfried (Stamp).
