The Curzon Youth Panel
The young people, who are between the ages of 13 and 19, have now made 3 films about the Curzon and are running their own Film Club, The Reelers. Once a month we show films programmed by these young people and the event is managed by them. Anyone betwen the ages of 13 and 19 is welcome to attend.
‘What’s Going on at the Curzon?’, made during August 2010, was led by two older volunteers, both media graduates. It shows the Youth Panel group, dressed in hard hats and reflective vests, exploring the building work in process. Jaffa Cake News, made in Autumn 2010, interviews key people about their responses to the developments. With funding from the North Somerset Youth Opportunity Fund to make this film, the Panel were able to appoint a professional filmmaker, Paul Gilbert, to support them to develop their camera and editing skills while making the film.
The young people's comments have also helped to shape the new 'living museum'. One of them, for example, proposed the 2010 staff photograph, now on view in the lounge set alongside the one taken in 1921.

Schools and Colleges
The Education and Learning Department welcomes school visits to the Curzon. We have hosted groups from Primary, Secondary and Special schools, and are willing to develop plans in partnership with teachers that support your curriculum needs.
Senior Screenings
We aim to make the Senior Screenings as accessible as possible. The First programme of five films was made possible by Quartet Community Foundation Sitec Fund for Older People with support from Age UK and NS Housing. We took advice from 160 Seniors before compiling the programme which showed a balance of classics and contemporary materials.
The 2012 Spring programme starts with contemporary films and then goes onto show classic material from April, the month in which we celebrate 100 years of cinema going in Clevedon. The feeis £4 per head per screening event. All films are introduced and there is a discussion after the screening during which time free refreshments are provided. The current programme is on the Senior Screenings page.
