Friends of the Curzon

The scheme offers a range of benefits, and is also intended to help the Curzon Clevedon Community Centre for the Arts - the charity which owns the cinema - to rebuild its reserves, which have been substantially depleted following the major refurbishment and development of the past year.

The Friends are offered special deals on tickets and occasional exclusive events. The Curzon is also hoping to arrange special exclusive deals for members with local businesses.

Benefits include:

  • 2 complimentary tickets (4 for joint membership)

  • One £1 off admission per month per member (valid for any performance)

  • Free membership of the Curzon Film Club (worth £16.00)

  • Free mailing of the film programme and Screen Talk newsletter

  • Reduced rates for special events (such as silent films and opera screenings)

The Friends will also have a role to play in shaping the Curzon’s future. Not only will their financial support help maintain the cinema but, when considering strategy and options for future major developments, the Curzon Board will come to the Friends first to seek their feedback and help with their plans.

Gareth Negus, Curzon Director, said “We have often been asked over the years whether we could start a Friends scheme, and the start of our centenary year seemed like the ideal time. We hope that the Friends of the Curzon will become an integral part of our planning as we think about the next phase of the restoration, and will also enable those joining the scheme to try a wider number of films and events. In particular, membership of the Friends would make an ideal gift.”

Membership of the Friends is being offered at the rate of £75 (£125 joint).
