35mm Gaumont Chrono Silent
Catalogue number 37
1910. This picture head is incomplete but shows how this famous projector may have looked. The Chrono was found in many Biographs and cinemas of the period. This relic has been rescued, regardless of condition, with the hope that someday another will be discovered enabling complete restoration of this ancient projector.
I saw a Chrono in a projection room in Kettering in 1952 and was able to get it running. It had a BTP sound head and a Vulcan arc but neither worked due to missing rectification and defunct rack. Maurice Thornton – Curator
