The Son is basically a GEM mechanism which includes a sound system of sound optics, sound head and amplifier. Manufactured by Pathescope UK the design was good but corners were cut to keep the price reasonable. The motor, speed governor and the amplifier caused problems. However the projector illustrated is thought to be a mark 2 nn which these problems were sorted out. Light output is a 12volt 100watt lamp. The accelerated claw movement and the f1:9 lens gave a good picture. 1951
