Legend has it that the Bingoscope was
a poorly designed projector in many respects in that
it had no flywheel, no condenser, no shutter thus the
hand-cranking was jerky and the light output was wanting.
It has a single tooth claw and runs 30ft. cassettes
through a book formed gate and whats more the claw was
to large for the central 9.5mm perforations. Basically
a toy projector in many ways it did improve eventually.
There were four models including a 9volt battery model.
And a clockwork model.
Pathescope produced 15ft. mini-films
which told a little story which were ideal for these
projectors. Bing comes from the likely association with
the Francis Bing German manufacturer. In Britain they
were made by Construment Products. 1937
