GAUMONT CHRONO HEAD 35mm
Un-loved and derelict this was found in circumstances
which indicated it was bound for scrap. Rescued, it gives
some idea of what these once widely used projectors looked
like although much is missing.
Leo Gaumont produced the Chrono
around 1910. It was used extensively in and by Bioscopes
and when cinemas began to be established it was a popular
projector. It is thought that the Curzon had at least
one Chrono in its first cinema, "The Picture House",
in the days prior to WW1. It is hoped that one day we
shall find more parts to complete this historic machine.
