Curzon Collection: 16 mm Victor Animatograph

The projector no longer works and has been removed from its blimp so that the engineering can be seen along with the thermonic valve and amplifier Note also the size of the mains transformer and the style of labelling.

Introduced into the UK in 1935 it is distinctive for its blimp. It has all the facilities for its time for sound film projection including a 1000watt lamp and a standard 2 inch lens. Still picture is achieved by the use of a clutch.
There is a speed control for both silent and sound film projection. The projector has been removed from the blimp to show the amplifier and the arrangement of thermonic valves. Whilst not complete it is displayed as received. Victors were also manufactured in the UK under licence from RCA / Victor Co. of Camden, USA.
