Curzon Collection: 16mm Kodascope C silent

Probably the most popular projector Kodak ever produced it was introduced in 1926

Using only a 100watt lamp set at 90 degrees to the picture gate the light is reflected by a mirror. The intermittent mechanism is based on two eccentrics operating the claw and arm in a 'grasshopper' movement having one eccentric rotating the main claw and the other eccentric pushing the claw into the perforation for pulling the film through.

The projector has a 2 inch lens. Later the C was fitted with a 300watt lamp by request which then gave a most brilliant picture comparable to any other 16mm projector of its day. The projector also has a most intriguing heat filter which dropped into the shutter opening if the motor slowed to below a certain speed or stopped.
