Two projectors in the later
600 series dating around the 1960’s/70’s era.
The 652 had, what was standard by then, a fibre blimp.
Even from the 640 range improvements had been made to
the intermittent, light and optics. Much of the gearing
in these projectors was now plastic. The lamp is a 1000watt
and spool capacity 1600feet. Unfortunately like many projectors
from this model onwards there were problems in later years
with the worm gear as has occurred with this projector
which until recently was in use as a demo machine.
The 655TQ is quite a different
projector. The lamp is Quartz with a greater output. Automatic
threading is a feature of this machine but like most others
of this type extracting the film in an emergency is not
easy. Excellent projection qualities especially to large
audiences with good light output and clear sound reproduction.
