Of the three Ampro 16mm projectors in the Collection, Ampro Stylist Major examples from the 1950’s era another is a Premier 20 also from that time. The Stylist Major projector was produced by Simplex Ampro and was distributed in the UK by M.W.Dunscombe of Bristol. The projectors were favoured because of their quietness and therefore not hidden in a blimp.

A superb machine it has a 1000watt lamp and a powerful amplifier. It was however very fiddly to thread and did not find favour with many projectionists due to this.
