This projector appears to
be a development of the earlier GD simply called the AMPRO
which was imported into the UK around 1935 by the Sheffield
Photo Company. The KD has a 750watt lamp with a barrel
shutter minimising flicker.
It also includes a fast pull-down
and the sprockets have 'strippers' to prevent film wrapping
around them in the event of a film break. There are cooling
fins on the lamphouse and a superior system of condensers
which increased the screen illumination. Not a pedestal
projector it does use a central pivot arrangement for
tilting.
